I’m a photographer but what I enjoy even more is being a husband, and a dad of four wonderful & crazy children.
Years ago, when I began to discover my bent toward photography I started with an interest in photographing landscapes. Quickly I discovered my true passion wasn’t in capturing beautiful scenery; but rather in telling the stories behind those one-of-a-kind moments, heartfelt emotions, and deep connections. For me, the true joy in photography comes from taking a seemingly insignificant moment and freezing that moment in time. That way, it can be treasured for lots of years to come.
Eventually, when I became a father, this became very real for me. As a photographer, I understood the importance of the moment, but only once I became a dad did I realize how quickly those moments seem to just come and go without a trace. If it weren’t for the countless photographs I snapped so many of those heartfelt memories that I carry with me today, likely would have just vanished from my mind.
Take it from me, you don’t want to let another moment or season in the life of your family just slip away. Be sure that you take the time to remember those precious moments you share with the ones you love the most. Otherwise, after some time that moment will turn into a memory. Likely, after some more time many of those memories will just fade away.
Some day nearly all that will remain of the days you cherish the most will be the memories that you took the time to capture.
