Steven King's Home in Bangor, ME[/caption] The Shining. The Green Mile. The Shawshank Redemption. Pet Sematary. It. The Mist. If you have seen any of these movies or read any of these books you know that they are all creations from the world-renowned american author Stephen King. I have had the privilege of watching a few of these spooky and mysterious award-winning thrillers. I was never a big fan of clowns. Thanks It. This past weekend my wife and I traveled north to Maine and stayed with my sister and her husband. Throughout the weekend we enjoy picking pumpkins and apples, rocking out at a wet concert and cheering for my little brother at the University of Maine football game (more on that later...stay tuned)
However, one of the most exciting things I got to do all weekend was visit the home of Stephen King. Okay I was really only looking at it from the street, but trust me you can still tell this was without a doubt a home that belonged to Stephen King, in fact, on second thought I probably would not have even wanted to be inside of that house. Walking over to the home I first noticed the black fence that surrounds it, not to mention the three-headed gargoyle perched atop of it staring at me. Yikes! Then my eyes were drawn to the structure of the home, it looks eerily similar to a castle to me.
I only have a few images because let me tell you, I felt like a trap door was going to open on me, scary, scary stuff. Despite that I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to photograph Stephen King's spooky yet breathtaking home. It was all that I'd imagined it to be and quite a bit more. Is this how you would have imagined the home of arguably the most famous american author of contemporary horror and suspense. What is your favorite part of this home, or maybe the thing you think is the creepiest?
